Exhibitions

The OGPC holds several short-term group exhibitions each year, featuring hand-pulled prints by members. Most exhibitions take place at the group’s Connective Gallery, located in the Nepean Creative Arts Centre (NCAC), 35 Stafford Rd, Bells Corners. The gallery, adjacent to the main office, is open most days, but hours vary. Call (613) 596-5783 for NCAC business hours.

The OGPC also participates in a variety of group exhibitions and sales at other venues in the region, such as cafés and restaurants.

Expositions

Chaque année le CAGOG organise plusieurs expositions collectives temporaires qui présentent des estampes réalisées à la main par les membres. La plupart des expositions ont lieu à la Galerie du Collectif, située dans le Centre des arts créatifs de Nepean situé au 35 Ch. Stafford Bells Corners. La galerie, adjacente au bureau principal, est ouverte la plupart des jours, mais les heures varient (appelez le (613) 596-5783 pour connaître les heures d’ouverture du CACN).

Le CAGOG participe également à diverses expositions collectives et à des ventes dans d’autres lieux de la région, comme des cafés et des restaurants.


Printer’s Ink Vernissage

Everyone enjoyed the vernissage Friday night at the Stone School Gallery for Printer’s Ink: How many words make a picture?”. Visitors and artists were able to visit the exhibit in the upper gallery in small numbers with a very positive response. There were lots of great comments about the overall exhibit and individual pieces of artwork. The exhibit is getting coverage from the local newspaper. Emily, a journalist for the Equity newspaper came out to take pictures and interviewed the curator of the exhibit, Tina Petrovicz (OGPC member). The theme, the diversity of exhibit and the creative challenges of the project were discussed.

Vernissage visitors to Printer’s Ink: How many words make a picture?

Refreshments were served in the yard of the gallery on this lovely evening. This allowed the guests and artists space to have a chat and enjoy a glass of wine and the great nibbles that were brought. It was wonderful and safe celebration of months of this group effort and that the exhibit happened inspite of the challenges that COVID has created for us as artists.

OGPC members of the exhibit, surprised Tina with flowers and a card as a thank you for her efforts in organizing this project and the resulting exhibit. She was honored to have worked with such a great group of artists, everyone pitching in to make it happen and the trully wonderful artwork that was created.

Printer’s Ink: How many words make a picture?

Inspired by Words. Fifteen OGPC members created works inspired by words of a poem, lyric, proverb or saying:

Sylvia Bretzloff, Madeleine Rousseau, Peter Dolan, Murray Dineen, Roger Sutcliffe, Debra James Percival, Shirley Yik, Shealagh Pope, Valerie Bridgeman, Denise Lachance, Deidre Hierlihy, Tina Petrovicz, Dale Shutt, Patricia Slighte and Louise Guay.

Their works will be shown at the Stone School Gallery at Portage-du-Fort, Quebec, from September 11 to October 11, 2020. Wearing a mask is mandatory indoors and a limited number of guests will be allowed in the Gallery at any one time.

Join us for an outdoor vernissage under a tent on September 11 from 6 to 8 pm. Refreshments will be served.

Some of the artists will be at the gallery in the weekend during the exhibition. It is another chance to see the show and meet the artists. Check the website for gallery hours at http://artpontiac.com/en/.

A curator talk by Tina Petrovicz will take place at closing day, October 11 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. She will discuss her process that has led to the adaption of her printmaking with the integration of light and movement to create new expressions of art.

Please note that the vernissage planned for Sunday, March 15th at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre is cancelled due to concerns about public gatherings and the COVID-19 virus.

The latest show is now hung for your viewing pleasure! This show , curated by Mary Baranowski-Lowden, features various etching techniques (such as aquatint, soft ground, line etching, sugar lift and open bite) in prints from 15 Connective artists. Not only does the show offer examples of different etching techniques (and explains them), it also shows work in different sizes and featuring very different subject matter. Such a great selection to see!

BIG Lino

New Group Show at the OGPC Gallery

January 9 through March 5, 2020 / le 9 janvier au 5 mars 2020

The theme of this show is BIG. Eleven artists are exhibiting 14 works that convey the idea of BIG not only through their physical size, but by addressing major issues, portraying huge subjects, or in their use of bold mark-making. The versatility of linocut as a medium is also showcased.
