Migration

In this group exhibition, eight local artist-printmakers share their diverse interpretations of migration. The artists participating in “Migration” raise important and timely political, economic, ecological and social issues. They do so in a wide variety of formats and printmaking techniques. The body of work creates an immersive experience about the phenomena of migration. This exhibition invites the viewer to reflect on their own relationship or history with the phenomena of migration.

The artists are Murray Dineen, Deidre Hierlihy, Freida Hjartarson, Shealagh Pope, Madeleine Rousseau, Beth Shepherd, Patricia Slighte and Lynda Turner

Dans cette exposition collective, huit artistes-graveurs locaux partagent leurs diverses interprétations de la migration. Les artistes participant à « Migration » soulèvent des questions politiques, économiques, écologiques et sociales importantes et d’actualité. Ils le font dans une grande variété de formats et de techniques d’arts imprimés. L’ensemble des œuvres crée une expérience immersive sur les phénomènes de migration. Cette exposition invite le spectateur à réfléchir à sa propre relation ou histoire avec les phénomènes de migration.
Les artistes sont Madeleine Rousseau, Beth Shepherd, Deidre Hierlihy, Lynda Turner, Patricia Slighte, Freida Hjartarson, Shealagh Pope et Murray Dineen.

Group Exhibition “At the Library” now at Ottawa School of Art – Exposition collective “À la bibliothèque” à l’École d’art d’Ottawa

Eight artists, members of the Ottawa-Gatineau Printmakers Connective, have a group exhibition titled At the Library at the Ottawa School of Art (Byward Market campus). Stephanie Amos, Luigina Baratto, Murray Dineen, Deidre Hierlihy, Shealagh Pope, Madeleine Rousseau, Beth Shepherd and Jennifer Waterman have interpreted the theme using such printmaking techniques as linocuts, stone lithography, drypoint, collagraphy, and handmade stamps, to produce two- and three-dimensional art works. The guest Curator is Stephanie Amos.

Location: Ottawa School of Art 35 Georges St. Ottawa. The exhibition is in the vitrines on the first floor of the OSA.

Exposition collective “À la bibliothèque” à l’École d’art d’Ottawa

Huit artistes, membres du Collectif d’artistes-graveurs d’ Ottawa-Gatineau, présentent une exposition collective intitulée À la bibliothèque à l’École d’art d’Ottawa (campus du marché By). Stephanie Amos, Luigina Baratto, Murray Dineen, Deidre Hierlihy, Shealagh Pope, Madeleine Rousseau, Beth Shepherd et Jennifer Waterman ont interprété le thème en utilisant des techniques des arts imprimés telles que la linogravure, la lithographie sur pierre, la pointe sèche, la collagraphie et les tampons faits à la main, pour produire des œuvres d’art bidimensionnelles et tridimensionnelles. La conservatrice invitée est Stephanie Amos.

Lieu : École d’art d’Ottawa 35, rue Georges, Ottawa. L’exposition se trouve dans les vitrines du premier étage de l’OSA.

THE OTTAWA-GATINEAU PRINTMAKERS CONNECTIVE PRESENTS THE EXHIBITION ‘PAINTERLY PRINTMAKING: Monotypes and Monoprints‘

The summer exhibition at the Connective Gallery showcases the work of eleven OGPC artists who explore forms of monotypes and monoprints.  Often referred to as painterly printmaking, these techniques are among the simplest of printmaking methods. Yet the variety of approaches used  ̶  splashes of colour, spontaneous gestures or painstaking detail, additions of collage or found materials, use of stencils or organic materials – results in works that are visually complex and emotionally expressive.

LE COLLECTIF D’ARTISTES-GRAVEURS D’OTTAWA-GATINEAU PRÉSENTE L’EXPOSITION  ‘L’ESTAMPE PICTURALE :  Monotypes et monogravures’  

L’exposition d’été à la Galerie Connective présente les œuvres de onze artistes de l’OGPC qui explorent les monotypes et les monogravures.  Souvent qualifiées d’estampes picturales, ces techniques sont parmi les plus simples des méthodes d’impression. Pourtant, la variété des approches utilisées, telles que les éclaboussures de couleurs, les gestes spontanés ou les détails minutieux, l’ajout de matériaux collés ou trouvés, et l’utilisation de pochoirs ou de matériaux organiques, donne lieu à des œuvres visuellement complexes et expressives d’émotion.
