Printing Large!

Six OGPC members (Louise Guay, Tina Petrovicz, Valerie Bridgeman, Dale Shutt, Laurence Finet, and Susan Cartwright) are participating in a printmaking project led by artPontiac. The project will see 7 printmakers create 14 large (36 x 24″) woodcut prints, using a steamroller on the main street of Shawville, Québec on Saturday, August 22nd. Our videographer will create a visual and audio record which tells the story behind the project and each of the woodcuts. Please come and join us!

The theme of all the woodcuts is InterconneXion, something which every artist hopes to achieve with their viewers. It celebrates the connection among printmakers, who often create individually, but also together with collaborative works and exchanges. Each participating artist was free to choose what kind of interconnection they wished to portray and this has resulted in a wonderful array of images. Check the InterconneXion Facebook page and artPontiac’s website for WIP shots of the blocks.

So come out and join us in Shawville and celebrate connections (something we perhaps cherish a bit more after the past few months!) and see the body of work we produce. Rain date is Sunday, August 23rd.
